Ford Recalls 2017 Mustang for Faulty Door Handle

DEARBORN, Mich., March 15, 2017 Ford is issuing a recall for approximately 6,000 2017 Ford Mustangs built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant, Jan. 13, 2017 to Jan. 31, 2017. . The Mustangs are being recalled to inspect the left interior door handle return spring. In the affected vehicles, the left-hand interior door handle return spring may have been installed incorrectly, which could cause the return spring to become unseated. If the interior door handle return spring is unseated, the inertial loads experienced by the interior door…

This Turbo Diesel Nova Launches So Hard It Poops Itself A Little

Turbo diesel powered cars will always have a special place in my heart. One of my favorite cars from my past was a Peugot 505 Turbo Diesel with a stick. Sure it was dog slow off the line, but on the highway it shined. You could leave it in fifth gear and just tip your toe to pass cars effortless. Yes it was quirky and it died a painful death at the hands of the next owner (gas is bad for diesels, mmmkay). But I…

Hero Dad Reveals Baby’s Gender Via Burnout In His V8 Miata

Lately there has been an increase in so called “gender reveal parties” along with other events that give happy parents-to-be a fun way to tell their friends & family what gender child they are expecting. Until now this seems to have been the realm of wives and mother-in-law’s….until now. One hero Dad has taken a manly step to show how a gender reveal can be done with  a touch of testosterone. Oh, and 1UZ V8 Miata. The car sounds badass and he certainly has no…

Old Jeep Commercial Shows How Versatile Vintage Jeeps Could Be

Jeep, Goes most anywhere… Does most anything. We’re really not sure what to think about the intro to this 1960 Jeep commercial. Buster Keaton was no doubt the king of silent film comedy, but we think the ad execs were reaching a bit by wrangling him into doing this commercial. Regardless, what is awesome about this commercial is that is shows just how hard Kaiser-Jeep tried to make the CJ into a farmer’s dream vehicle. The civilian Jeep CJ was known as the Universal for…

Cool Old Racing Film – 1957 Daytona Beach Measured Mile

Would you believe us if we told you that NASCAR was once involved in land speed racing? It’s true! In fact, NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) was the sanctioning body for the Daytona Beach Measured Mile for several years. Daytona beach had been the location for several land speed records starting back in 1927.  Anyone who has walked on the beach at Daytona can see how smooth and flat the area is, but it is nothing remotely like a paved surface. It…

This Wide Body 2014 Mustang Has A Sad Secret…

While perusing eBay this morning, pretending that we have money, we came across an awesome looking wide body 2014 Mustang:   Pretty cool right? It even has an old school IMSA vibe to it from the front. There was obviously a lot of work put into this car, and the 2014 Mustang was probably the best looking model year of S-197 generation. We’ve got stripes, customs badges, custom headrests, and a decent tire & wheel package. Looking good so far! So imagine our surprise as…

1970 Mustang Boss 302 Trans Am Racer To Hit The Auction Block

Further acknowledging what we here at Motor City Muscle Cars have long known, American race cars are not only worth saving, but they are also a serious investment opportunity. Last year RM sold a 1965 Shelby GT350 R for just a touch under $1,000,000.00. That is some serious coin for a Mustang. And while this Boss 302 probably won’t bring that level of bidding right now, we think that sale may influence future sales of these vintage race cars. There is bound to be a…

Cadillac Kicks Down The Door With The New 640HP 2016 Cadillac CTS-V

Dear Lincoln, What happened to us? We used to be so close, but you’ve grown more and more distant as the years have gone by. When I bought my first Mark VII we had so much fun together, doing burnouts, drag racing, and eating up hundreds of highway miles at warp speed in quiet comfort. Then you built  the Mark VIII for me, and that was so thoughtful. You put a DOHC 32-valve Cobra engine in a buttery smooth body that would do an honest…

Museum Sinkhole 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil Restored

Chevrolet unveiled the restored 2009 Corvette ZR1 at the automotive industry SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The vehicle was damaged earlier this year when a sinkhole developed beneath the National Corvette Museum. After the SEMA Show the Chevy will return to the Bowling Green, Ky museum on permanent display.

Retro Cinema: How To Waterproof Your MB Jeep

Here at Motor City Muscle Cars were absolutely love vintage Jeeps. This old War Department Signal Corps training film is all kinds of awesome. First we see what appears to be a complete waterproofing kit in a crate. We’d love to know what that kit is worth today intact. Second, we learn about our friend the water proofing material, which of course features that marvel of modern technology ASBESTOS! Yes, the main component in the kit is a five gallon bucket of asbestos laden play…
